FREDERICTON, NB—The Woodstock, New Brunswick-based K-Line Construction Ltd. today announced the acquisition and merger of Fredericton-based DC Electrical and Woodstock-based Sarchfield Electric, two established electrical firms that have operated in New Brunswick for decades. Both companies will now operate under the DC Electrical brand and join K-Line Construction Ltd.

“We want to build on the proud history of these firms, bring them together and make them stronger. Under the DC Electrical brand, they will continue to provide the quality products and services that earned them such respect over their decades of operations. Welcome to the K-Line team,” said Gary Keenan, founder of K-Line Group of Companies, who was inducted into the Junior Achievement New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame last month in a ceremony in Fredericton.

Founded in 1981, K-Line Construction has grown into a diversified construction company with over 400 employees and operations across the Maritimes. K-Line offers a wide variety of engineering and construction services with a focus on the electrical power, highway information, and telecommunications industries. The acquisition and amalgamation of DC Electrical and Sarchfield Electric is a strategic addition to the K-Line offering and reinforces the company’s commitment to New Brunswick. The newly combined team at DC Electrical currently consists of 17 electricians and apprentices across Fredericton and Woodstock. DC’s strong focus on providing superior electrical, security, and customer service will continue to strengthen as the company expands its knowledge and customer base throughout the province.

Mark Stairs, Vice President of Operations with DC Electrical and former Vice President of Engineering at Craig Manufacturing will lead the newly combined company. “After long and successful careers, the founders of these companies were looking to transition their ownership. We are looking forward to working with their teams, adding new staff and leadership, and rolling out new products and services to current and new customers. We will continue to work with Dave Giles, the former owner of DC Electrical, and we wish Dave Sarchfield a happy retirement.”
